Could you first try this:
– check for a plugin conflict
– switch theme to see if the issue comes from your theme

Tried all this and no success. Eventually some users face the same issue. The woraround that works well is to use a different browser. If the users already have cookies with sessions, the issue happens randomly.September 9, 2020 à 2:21 pm #780279

Which browsers are working, please? Which ones aren’t?

We have the same problem with many customers.
It’s happens with all the browsers, could you check it?
We have deactivated all the plugins, changed the theme and made a new .htaccess, but the problem is still here.
PD: Why you deleted my message on this topic?September 14, 2020 à 10:31 pm #783412
It is not that it works with some browsers and it does not with others. Our customers have toldus that if they use another browser (i.e they use FF but try with Chrome, or use Safari and try with FF) then it works for them. So the issue is not related to a specific browser.
Also, this week we have reports from customers stating that if we upload them 2 different private archives, they can download one but they experince the same endless login loop with the other.
Happy to create a user for you and let you test if from the “user” experience and see if it happens to you.

@r-mantpress Sry, I did not delete your topic, I moved it here. I thought you would get notified about that, sry. You can subscribe to this topic if you want to follow our discussion with Maria, but it’s never a good thing to work with many customers at once to attempt to fix an issue. So please, use your own topic so we can try to debug that, and attempt to reproduce that issue.

We cannot try to deactivate some of your plugins, but we are suspecting possible conflicts with those plugins:
– custom login: may intefere with our login system
– logout clear cookies: may intefere with our cookies
– WP Block Admin: may intefere with our plugin, and maybe useless because this kind of option can already be set within WP Customerr Area
– Cookie Ley Española: may intefere with our cookie sessions
You should maybe try to disable these plugins AND clear your cookies.
Or, you can create a clone instance and I’ll try to deactivate the other plugins, however, we can’t deactivate anything without affecting your live site, that’s why we would need a cloned site to try this out.

I´ve been trying to post entries for some days but they are not published. Can you check if things are OK or if you see my latest posts?September 21, 2020 à 12:40 pm #787079
Hi Thomas –
While we troubleshoot the issue, I´d like your guidance on doing a rollback of the plugin to 7.9.0 in our prod system so we can continue using its functionality.
Can you please help me rolling it back? a) send me the code b) any changes on the DB that are needed? c) will it be compatible with my plugins (search, notifications)?
Thanks,September 22, 2020 à 11:12 pm #788209
Did a test in the non prod system rolling it back to 7.5.1 and the issue is gone (this is the most recent version the WP rollback plugin offers me). So the problem resides in 7.9.X
I’d like to test 7.9.1 and 7.9.0. Can you please send me a link to these versions? I’ve not found them in the WP SVN repos (they seem outdated).September 22, 2020 à 11:23 pm #788211
Tested with 7.8.6 (latest version I found in GitLab). Works well, so again the problem resides in 7.9.X
(repeating myslef, sorry 🙂 )I’d like to test 7.9.1 and 7.9.0. Can you please send me a link to these versions?September 22, 2020 à 11:44 pm #788214
Found 7.9.0 on GitLab (commit c3d6b55825950bef8508e06dd90e20327eeec0d1) and I can confirm the issue persists.
If I disable all plugins but this one, switch to the default theme (twenty twenty), logout, remove all cookies, and try to access directly the download link I get the wp-login.php redirect loop.
So the issue is with the 7.9 versions.September 23, 2020 à 10:16 pm #788923
Hi Thomas, any update on this? I’ve seen this same issue in other threads in the forums. Any update?
