Hello,
I would like to know if there’s any way to restrict the front-end publishing on the way that the user who is publishing only can assign the file to himself.
I would recommend that you:
- add a default owner in Settings > WP Customer Area > Private file Default Owner (you can add the admin for instance)
- deactivate the permission for a subscriber to select an owner in Settings > WP Customer Area > Capabilities > Private Files (this will delete the step 2: select an owner)
Setting a default owner (like an admin), is, in most cases, better than allowing the user to only select himself because it allows you to simply delete the step 2, and it allows the admin to see the post on his frontend dashboard.
If you still want the user to only be able to select himself in the selection boxes, this can be done with the owner restrictions add-on, but you won’t be able to also set a default owner. It means that the user will need to select its own name in the selection box.
Regards.
