Hi, I have downloaded WP customer area and it’s working fine. However, I am having trouble doing anything with the layout.  It’s bunched up in the left of the page and I’ve tried several things like creating an Elementor template which looks good in editor mode but has no effect on the live page.  Screenshot attached.  I just want the dashboard to sit in the center of the page or be justified. Can you  help?  Theme is Astra but all the pages are designed in Elementor.

      Hello,

If I understand correctly, you are using the Elementor theme’s builder, right?

First, you need to create a template, and include a header, a footer, but nothing on the content part (leave it empty). You need to assign this template to WPCA pages. To do that, you must assign it to the “customer area” page and its sub-pages (check the box to do that automatically), and to to all custom post types from WP Customer Area (private pages, private files, etc…).

That should probably fix your issue, because from your screen, I see this title which should not be there, so I suspect it is automatically added from the “content” template part. I think this “content” template part also modify the HTML structure and break the layout.

      Regards.

Perfect, thank you.  The Welcome to your customer area was what I’d put in the elementor page.  I’d already done all the header footer, creating a template and assigning template correctly as per your instructions and once I’d removed the content in the elementor page, it worked correctly.

So following the success with the files page which now looks as I’d like (attachment ‘manor-ca-1’), the same is not happening for the other pages even though I have assigned the template to them (attachment ‘manor-ca-template-2).  I have attached a screeshot of how I built the template using the shortcodes for the menu and dashboard. (attachment ‘manor-ca-template-build-3’) and how the dashboard pages looks on the front end even though the template assigned (attachment ‘manor-ca-home-4’),

      Hello,

Sorry for the delay, I wasn’t available end of last week.

I am not sure what you’re trying to do by using this “shortcode” field.

The shortcodes don’t need to be added by hand, they’re all already included in the pages from wp-admin > pages > customer-area page and its sub-pages.

You should not add shortcodes by yourself within Elementor. Just leave the content part empty for your template, assign the customer-area page and its subpages, and don’t touch anything else. The page and related content will be loaded from shortcodes inserted in WPCA pages.

Also, as far as I remember, there’s an option allowing you to select a page and automatically include sub-pages. Could be useful to let this be done automatically. Please refer to Elementor’s documentation for more information.

      Regards.
