Unable to reply to conversations.

      Hi,

      The problem i am currently facing, is that no-one is able to reply to conversations. I have already checked the permissions/capabilities section under conversations tab, and all necessary options seem checked. However, the conversations all appear as read-only with no ability to send a reply. The users are still able to create new conversations, just unable to reply.

      Attaching a screenshot of the problem, where you can find that there is no space for posting a reply. The screenshot is taken from an admin level profile, with all permissions .

      Was the ‘conversations’ interface working properly before, or has this always been an issue on your site?
      Have you recently installed a new plugin or made changes that might override or customize the WP Customer Area display or behavior?
      (For example: a theme override, a custom plugin, or something that modifies access permissions or post types)

      This will help us determine if the issue is related to the plugin configuration, your theme, or a possible third-party interference.

      Thanks for the reply. Hope i am able to answer all your queries.

      1. Was the ‘conversations’ interface working properly before, or has this always been an issue on your site?” – Well, for the first test message, i (admin user) was indeed able to send a reply, but as soon as the reply was sent, the receiving user(another admin user) could not open the conversation. Ever since, the option to send replies has been missing. I also was unable to open/view the reply that i had sent.
      2. Have you recently installed a new plugin or made changes that might override or customize the WP Customer Area display or behavior?” – No, at the time/just before this problem of not being able to reply to conversations, no new plugins were installed. However, after about 12 hours after of this problem started, i have installed 4 plugins, namely:-
        a. “wpca-design-extras-2.2.1”
        b. “wpca-additional-owner-types-6.1.0”
        c. “seo-by-rank-math-pro” and lastly
        d. “really simple SSL”
      3. In case you need admin access to the wordpress backend, please let me know. I will be happy to provide you with the login details at your personal email i.d. (I am not sure if posting admin login details here is safe)

        Hello, i have found out the possible cause for this conflict, however it is still not a solution.

        1. The issue is being caused by the setting : “Show additional information before and after the post in the single post view.” under the conversations tab. (Attached image 01).
        2. However, once i toggle this setting as ‘on’, it takes an absurd amount of time(2mins+) to load the individual conversations. The browser gives a warning “This page is slowing down Firefox. To speed up your browser, stop this page” (Attached image 02).
        3. However once the conversation finally loads(after about 2 mins), i am able to view replies, and make replies. (Attached image 03)

        Awaiting for a possible solution.

        At this stage, we haven’t had any other reports of slow performance related to the “Show additional information” setting. That doesn’t mean your experience isn’t valid — it might be related to a specific interaction on your site (another plugin, a large number of users or conversations, etc.).

        Since enabling this option allows the conversation replies to work correctly on your setup, we recommend keeping it enabled for now. If the additional information blocks are not essential for you, we could explore ways to reduce their impact in the future (e.g. through customization or filtering).

        We’ll keep monitoring for similar reports on our end and look into optimizing this rendering in a future update.
