Licensing

      Hello,

I’m curious as to how this works. I’m trying to decide between Personal and Developer licensing for the add-ons I want to purchase. I’ve noticed Personal can be installed on one website and Developer, unlimited.

Am I correct in assuming that this doesn’t work as a central dashboard, where you can manage all of your Clients from your own WordPress website and give them each a unique client portal to access, but instead, the plug-in and any add-ons need to be installed on every client’s website and then I as the developer would need to login to each website individually and manage their individual portals that way?

Basically, I’m looking for a client portal solution for WordPress that allows me to manage all my client portals from my own website. Is WP Customer Area capable of this?

      Thank you,

      Pulser Creative

      Hello,

Yes, you are correct. What you can manage from your account is the list of allowed domains linked to your license. Domains will be added once you configure licences on your client’s site. You can then delete them from your account on this site.

In practice, for each one of your client, you’ll need to install the add-ons (through the plugin page or FTP), and then activate the licences on their site from Settings > WP Customer Area > Licences. This will allow the website to periodically check for add-on updates, so you won’t need to manually re-upload the add-ons to update them.

The developer licenses are especially useful when you need to install the same license on multiple websites you own. If you want to manage licenses for differrent client’s sites, this is sometimes better suited to let your client buy its personal license (or buy one for him), which will give him access to its own personal API key.

Basically, I’m looking for a client portal solution for WordPress

WP Customer Area is a client portal solution

manage all my client portals from my own website

What you are looking for isn’t related to a client portal installed on your client’s site. You are looking for a management solution: a way to manage multiple sites and their plugins update from one dashboard. There are several solutions to handle that. But it would depend on your workflow. There are many plugins on the market that allow you to remotely control the updates of multiple websites, or there are also VPS-hosted solutions (and maybe SaaS-based solutions).

This is unfortunately not something we can give advices for.

      I hope that helps.

      Regards.
