Participant# 1 week, 5 days agoHello,
With the plugin, is it possible to create multiple folders for individual users and upload files to each specific folder?
Regarding the “Content Expiry” plugin, my understanding is that it unpublishes the content at the specified time without deleting it. Could you please confirm if this is correct?
With the “Notifications” plugin, is it possible to configure it so that an email is sent to a user whenever a document is uploaded to their folder?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Keymaster# 5 days, 16 hours agoHi,
Thank you for your questions! I’ll be happy to clarify what’s possible with WP Customer Area and its add-ons:
1. Is it possible to create multiple folders for individual users and upload files to each specific folder?
By default, Customer Area allows you to assign private files to individual users, but it doesn’t support true folder structures like a filesystem.
However, you can simulate multiple folders per user using:
– Categories or custom post types to group files logically
– Naming files clearly to reflect folder-like organization (e.g. Invoices / Project A / Contract.pdf)
If your goal is to create isolated areas per user with multiple documents, WP Customer Area handles this well by assigning files directly to users, but not via nested folder trees.2. Does the “Content Expiry” plugin unpublish content at a specific time without deleting it?
Yes, that’s correct.
The Content Expiry extension allows you to define an expiration date for any WPCA content (private files, pages, etc.). When the date is reached:
– The content is unpublished
– It remains in the admin (not deleted), and you can reactivate it manually later
This is useful for time-sensitive documents or temporary file availability.3. Can the “Notifications” plugin send an email when a document is uploaded to a user’s folder?
Yes, the Notifications add-on supports this use case.
You can configure it so that:
– Whenever a private file is published and assigned to a user, that user will receive an email notification automatically.
– The notification can include the file name, a link, and custom content via templates.
This feature ensures users are informed in real time when new documents are made available to them.Let me know if you’d like help setting up any of these features — or if you have a more specific workflow in mind.
Best regards,
