    Hello,

What settings should I set so that a user can upload content only for themselves?

You’ll need to configure the add-on.
This add-on adds some new options in the Settings > WP Customer Area > Private content type (such as Private Files / Pages, etc) > Owner Restrictions. Click the subscriber role from the left bar, then, in the “user” owner type selection box, select “only himself”.

However, keep in ming that an user do not need to assign a content to himself to be able to view it, if he is creating the post, because, in that case, he will be author of the post. Also, an author will view its own created posts, except if you kept active the option to hide authored posts. We do not specifically recommend you to configure it like that, because your users will sometimes not select themselves.

If I understand what you are trying to do, you just want your users to not be able to select others’ users from your site. In that case, I would recommend that, instead of using the Owner Restrictions add-on, you use the default feature to remove the entire owner selection part of the steps by steps form, and just assign the administrator by default (or another user). Check this blog post and scroll down to “new ability to hide the Owner selection part”.

is it possible to upload a file for a user and ensure that if it is not downloaded within 10 days the file is automatically deleted?

Sorry, we don’t have such a feature. If you really need that, you’ll need to hire a developer to extend WPCA’s plugin and its addons and develop it for you.

    Regards.

    Hello,

the 100 Mb is the approximate size of the total files that the client’s private space will contain

So there’s anything to worry about. It is a pretty standard usage. You’ll just need enough storage on your hosting provider and a few RAM.

If so, the problem is that administrators are not advanced users with technical skills.

Yes, the Bulk Import add-on would first need that you prepare the JSON file for those technicians. If you’re using an external software, like an invoice generator, or whataver, you could probably develop a script for your software, to generate such a file when exporting your documents / invoices, so it can then be imported in one shot in WordPress.

    Regards.

    Hello,

Are you actually sure that the add-on is actually activated?

It should work like others, and you should be allowed to enter a license code from the settings like any other add-on.

    Hello,

You’ll need the Owner Restrictions add-on to do that.

You’ll get some new options for each privte content, in the settings, to configure, per role and for each owner type, what the user can select.

For instance, you can configure the subscriber role to only be allowed to select an user as the owner, and to only be able to select himself in that user selection box.

    Regards.

    Hello,

For the design extras can we add a table in the description for the client new page here

Sorry but I am not sure I understand your request. From the shown video, I do not see anything related to the Design Extras add-on. However, if you’d like to create a simple table from the WP TinyMCE editor, you’ll probably need to extend its functions, but this is not related to WPCA itself, it is related to WP.

However, by using the Front Office Publishing add-on, you’ll be able to use, from the frontend, another editor than TinyMCE, called Summernote, for which we added a button to easily create a table.

If we add anything in the description for the client new page can clients get notification here

Video link is the same there.

However, to let your clients get notifications, you’ll need the Notifications add-on. However, Notifications are being sent when a post is published. From the admin side, when not using the Front Office Publishing add-on, you’ll need to check a box to send the notification, or you’ll need to add a code snippet to your site to check this box by default. Note that those notifications might not be sent when the post is updated (published only). So you’ll probably want to unpublish and publish the post again, and update the notification template, to send the appropriate email.

For smart groups- can we add users in the same smart group but when we send them content here.

Video link is the same there.

I definitely don’t understand your request, sorry.

can we send it to each client so they dont see each others content?

When you assign a post to a group (standard, smart, managed), it will be a single post, and anyone from that group will be able to see that single post. If the subscriber role is able to edit the post (from Settings > WP Customer Area > Capabilities), and if users from that groups are subscribers, they’ll all be able to edit the post. The good thing is that you can create a group including users from differrent roles, so a group of users can include users with differrent permissions.
Like if you create a conversation, assigned to a Smart Group, from the Conversations add-on, they’all be able to talk with each others.
If you create a private file post, assigned to a Smart Group, they’ll all be able to download the same attachment file. If they have the permission to upload attachments, they’ll all be able to add attachment files to the list of attachments.

If you want an user to have its own post, you need to create a separate post for each one of the user.

Please note that the Smart Group add-on is made to create  groups from a dynamic basis. You can for instance create groups that include any user from the database from which the email address ends by @gmail.com

If you want to create statically created groups, you might use the Additional Owners Types add-on, and create groups from members you manually selected.

    Regards

2.- The system is expected to serve a total of 150 clients with an average document load of 100 Megabytes each.

Also, I don’t know what kind of document could be 100mb sized, but if it’s a single PDF, it would be a real bad experience for your customer to open that. If you plan to upload 100mb sized PDF files, you might first review the way you export those PDF files. Instead of exporting them as a static printable 300 DPI file, you could export them as a numeric file, by including required fonts, by compressing included images, and by cropping out images not viewvable from the document itself.
A 1 page scanned PDF file at 300 DPI can be 15mb sized, while it could be 200kb sized if exported correctly, and while it would still be printed correctly as a numeric file.

However, if you still need to let your customers be able to download large files, you’ll need to consider a hosting provider, like a VPS, with an enough amount of RAM.

Also, when uploading large files, you can consider the FTP upload method, rather than the classic method. It allows you to upload files via FTP, and then select the file you want to assign to the post, and it will then be moved to the according post’s storage folder.

    Regards.

    Hello,

1.- Each client must have a private space in which they will have their documentation for consultation or download. In principle, clients will not upload documentation

This is actually doable with our free base plugin. We would first recommend you try that, and see if this first expectation fits your needs, and also check if you’re not experiencing any compatibility issue with your theme or any other plugin installed on your site. Do not hesitate, by the way, to check our getting started tutorial.

2.- The system is expected to serve a total of 150 clients with an average document load of 100 Megabytes each.

WP Customer Area uses the WP user system, and does not specifically involves any limit about the number of customers you could have. Any limit you could reach would comes from WP itself, or your server configuration. For instance, if you want your customers to be allowed to download files that are 100mb sized, you should configure PHP from your hosting provider to be able to do so. Since downloading secured private files within WPCA is done through PHP, and not via direct HTTP (for security reasons), it means than an user, downloading a 100mb file, will consume 100mb RAM from PHP, until the download ends up.
It’s up to you to configure PHP, WordPress, and their allowed memory, to be able to handle all the requests from your customers, depending on your website, its size, and the number of download requests you could have.

3.- Documents are considered confidential, so access to the client’s private space must have a double authentication system based on credentials and sending a code to the email associated with the client’s account.

First, to ensure enhanced security and confidentiality about secured files, especially if you run an NGINX server, you should first secure your private files folder.

Then, WP Customer Area does not include any double authentication feature, but the good thing is that WP Customer Area uses the WP users system. Your users will, by default, connect through the standard WP login forms, which means that you could install any security plugin that can handle that feature. You’ll only probably need a few tweaks if you are using our Authentication Forms add-on, because those double authentication feature could probably add extra inputs to the forms, such as Captcha or others forms, that should need to be allowed and correctly displayed.

4.- There will be at least three working users of the company who will act as administrators for both user and file management without distinction of client groups or content types. The three users will manage all clients.

I would recommend that you first check the free base plugin to get familiar about how the permissions work with WP Customer Area. Check Settings > WP Customer Area > Capabilities. As you’ll notice, you can assign permissions on a per role basis. Creating many administrators users might be too much on your case, because it will also grant them access to the whole site. But you can generate new roles on your site, programmatically, or with third party plugins, and grant them the permissions you need for WPCA.

5.- The uploading of the different files is done manually by the administrators.

From the free base plugin, uploading files can be done by the users, from the wp-admin, for whom the role is allowed to do so (as per the default settings, only administrators will be allowed to do so). You can also use the Front Office Publishing add-on to let them do that from the frontend, if required.

6.- The files must be classified by categories and subcategories.

You can add categories, but not sub-categories. This taxonomy has not been made to be hierarchical, sorry. You would need to workaround that by naming your categories accordingly, such as “My cat 1”, and “My cat 1 – Sub cat 1”.

Also, please note that categories are common to any user by default, which means that, any user can, by default, see any created category. You can however configure our Category Widget to only list categories where the currently logged-in users have files assigned to him. However, they’ll still probably be able to see the full categories’ list in some others places.

7.- The language used will be Spanish.

If you just need your site to be a single language, you’re actually good to go. WP Customer Area is actually 90% translated by the community in Spanish, which is huge. You shouldn’t notice that much unstranslated strings from the frontend. You’ll just need to update your site’s plugins languages from wp-admin > Update > Update Languages.

8.- The system must be adaptable to be used from PCs, tablets and mobile phones.

The UI is made to be responsive and adaptive to any device’s size, so it should be ok, but the real user experience mainly depend on your theme, because the private area will be wrapped into your theme. If you have a 300px wide container, created by your theme, and that you wrap WPCA into it, the user’s experience will be bad. Check our theme documentation to learn how to create custom themes templates for WPCA (in case you need a 100% width page for instance)

1.- Can you recommend a double authentication plugin that you are sure is compatible with WP Customer Area and Authentication forms?

No, sorry, we do not recommend third party plugins. It would be up to you to check them out. However, we’re still there if you encouter any integration issue with the Authentication Forms add-on.

2.- If in the future you wanted customers to upload documents, would that be possible?

You’ll just need to use and configure the Front Office Publishing add-on in that case, to let them upload files from the frontend.

3.- The users who will upload the files are administration technicians, they are not experts or computer technicians. Which addon is most recommended for mass uploads, FTP Mass Import or Enhanced files?

What do you mean by “mass uploads”? What are your needs exactly?

The Enhanced Files add-on simply allows you to attach more than one attachment file to a private file post. The FTP Mass Import add-on can be useful when you need to select an attachment file (like, our-new-terms-and-conditions.pdf), and send it to multiple users at once, and by automatically creating a new post for each one of those users. The Bulk Import add-on, is however, for advanced users with technical skills, since its configuration is made from a JSON file, but it allows to import content (not only private files) with an advanced configuration.

4.- Does the Content expiry addon delete files once they expire?

No, it will actually make the private content post unnaccessible for users roles who do not have the permission to bypass the validity date. Attachment files will not be deleted, nor the posts themselves.

5.- Is it already possible to categorize from the front-end?

Yes, by using the Front Office Publishing add-on. This however requires that the user has the permission to edit the given private content type AND the permission to edit the category. It means that the user will be able to edit, at leats, both the post (its title and content), and its category.

    Regards.

    Hello,

Sorry that you are experiencing issues. We’ll try to investigate that.

    message: ‘Still no download available’

Can you please show a screenshot about this message? There is no such string in our plugin or addons. I doubt it comes from our plugin. If you search in files with a code editor in the WPCA’s plugin files, you won’t find any result.

Perhaps it is a cookie-related problem, or something similar.

The only cookie that WPCA is creating is to remember the prefered view for the listings (either grid or list). We’re not relying on cookies for any other feature, I can sware that. Any other cookie created for your site should come from WP, or any other third party plugin.
Also, the incognito mode CANNOT be related to cookies issue. As you might know, the incognito mode does NOT prevent cookies to be created. It just allow cookies to be removed when you’ll close the window.

HOWEVER, in incognito mode, browser’s extensions are NOT activated by default (such as your ad blocker, your password manager, and so on…)

Can you please investigate the problem?

Investigating would require us to be able to reproduce the issue locally.

    1. Before we attempt that, I would strongly recommend that you check for a plugin conflict, or theme conflict (disable any other plugin than WPCA and its addons, and see if the issue still occurs. if not, reactivate them one by one, until it occurs again ; do the same for your theme).
    2. Could you also open the chrome dev tools (CTRL + shift + i), hit the console tab, and see if you can see any red output error?
    3. If the error only occurs in incognito mode, I would bet that a browser’s extension include a javascript function to the page, which actually crashes, and make the JS functions from WPCA unusable.
    4. You could also try to temporarily deactivate any browser’s extension and see if the issue still occurs.
For instance, if you’re still using the old popular AdBlock extension, you should be aware that this extension has been banned from Google for not following their new manifest V3 guidelines. Disabling it could probably fix the issue, since this extension cannot be used anymore on most recent browser’s chromium versions. Firefox, however, did not banned it. If that’s the issue you’re facing, you could find many workarounds by searching on the web, like the new AdBlock Lite version, which follows the manifest V3 guidelines. But we cannot help more about that since it clearly goes outside of our support scope, and since it is not related to WPCA itself.

    Regards.

    Bonjour,

    Hi,

You have an issue with your WPML plugin. You could temporarily verify that by disabling WPML, and see if it fixes your issue.

Javascript is crashing on their side, and prevents any Javascript component on the page to properly work (including page saving).

Please contact WPML and send them the attached screenshot.

    Hello,

    1. I checked the theme and few of its files. Its pretty basic, and I don’t see any function that could affect the post queries, but I might be wrong. Are you sure that the issue disappear when you switch your theme? I see that your theme is using TGMPA (which allows theme authors to activate third-party plugins for a theme). Is there any plugin that got also deactivated when switching the theme?
    2. Isn’t the theme bundled with a plugin named something like Freight Express Core? This plugin should exists in the initial themeforest zip file. You sent me the theme-only zip file which do not include this plugin.
    3. Also, from the dashboard, who is the author of those posts? The currently logged-in user shown on your screenshots, or another user?

Feel free to answer, but I recommend that you start contacting your theme author anyway, to explain the issue aswell.

Do not hesitate to send me a zip copy of the Freight Express Core plugin from your server. Don’t send me the zip copy downloaded from themeforest please, in case versions are differrent.

    Bonjour,

    Hello,

Sorry, but I do not understand your request.

    1. Upload the single file provided by the consultant with all the unique pay stubs and certifications

I don’t know what you call “unique pay stubs and certifications”. Cannot actually help about that, sorry.

    2. File processing and files that are not payroll or CU will be ignored by the system automatically.

“files that are not payroll or CU” -> same.

    3. Enter each unique payslip or certification into the individual user you created

“Enter each unique payslip or certification” -> same.

From what I can read there, the anwser would be: No, certainly not out of the box. BUT, probably yes, by programmatically extending WPCA and its functions, and by creating a custom plugin and some code snippets. But unfortunately, we cannot provide that much assitance for such a customization request. We can however help you technically, in case your developers need guidance about the classes and functions required to achieve what they want.

    Hello,

We don’t have any add-on about such a feature. This is absolutely not the concern of WP Customer Area.

However, you should be able to find plenty of plugin from the WP market to do that for you, and they’re should be compatible since WP Customer Area uses the WP standard users’ system.

Most of them do not relies on a “My account” page, but the configuration is instead made on the wp-login.php page. However, they could probably grant additional features in case you want your users to be able to manage their 2FA auth from their account page.
But we don’t provide actually any integration about that. That should be integrated by yourself.

You’ll only probably need extra tweaks if you own the authentification forms add-ons, since CSS styles from third party plugins on those forms might look broken at a first glance.

    Hello,

    I found the order.

However, I can’t change an email associated with that order like that, nor, give you the email account associated to it, without any proof you’re really the owner.

What I can actually tell you is that the email associated to that order is: i*****x@gmail.com

Would you be able, from that pattern, to remember the associated email account? You can use our Lost Passwords forms from your account to change your password if you don’t remember it.

    I hope that helps.
